Simpcw Health Program

The Simpcw Health Program designs its programs and services to be responsive to the needs and priorities identified by the community, staff, and leadership. Data collected from the Community Needs Assessment 2022, community planning sessions, and strategic planning sessions provided valuable information for the Strategic Plan 2022, a guiding document for the Simpcw Health Board and staff. Acknowledging our commitment to innovation and best practices, in 2022, the Board and the Simpcw Health Program received international recognition at the Towards Unity Health Conference for their community-based consultation process for the identification of key health priorities and strategies.

Simpcw First Nation is one of the seventeen First Nations within the Secwepemc Nation and is one of the six communities in the Secwepemc Central Cluster. The neighbouring communities within the Central Cluster include Bonaparte, Tk’emlups, Whispering Pines, Skeetchestn, and High Bar. The mandate of the cluster is to provide nation-shared services funded by the Joint Project Board. To date, the Cluster has provided the following: a Nurse Practitioner, a Mental Health Clinician, a Traditional Wellness Coordinator, and a Crisis Support Worker.  The Central Cluster continues to advocate for additional funding from our partners.

We welcome community members to reach out to our team for health services and support. Please call our department and we will assist you on your health journey – 250-672-9925.
