Please slow down on Dunn Lake Road

Simpcw field crews are out on Dunn Lake Road every Tuesday and Thursday until November, monitoring snakes and other wildlife as they cross the road on their fall migration to winter dens.

Our crews will be driving slowly with hazard lights on, and stopping or walking along the road shoulder. The monitoring area runs from the corner before the Hydro substation to the end of reserve lands (~18 km).

To help keep everyone safe:

  1. Slow down and give crews plenty of room.
  2. Watch for slow vehicles with hazard lights on. They may be part of the monitoring crew.
  3. Be patient. A short delay behind our vehicle keeps people and wildlife safe.

Thank you for helping our crews get home safe.
